  • Lock him up!’ Calls grow for Mnuchin to be jailed for interfering with the release of Trump’s taxes

Democrats in Congress are adamant about getting a hold of President Donald Trump's tax returns one way or another, as evidenced by the House Ways and Means Committee issuing a formal request that the IRS hand over six years of personal and business documents.

The president's latest move on illegal immigration comes days after US officials said they arrested or denied entry to over 103,000 people along the border with Mexico in March, more than twice as many as the same period in 2018. Rick Scott said Sunday that President Donald Trump's threat to place immigrants into so-called sanctuary cities might just be the President trying to "make everybody insane".

Hundreds of US cities, along with California, the country's most populous state, have declared themselves as havens for migrants who have illegally crossed the southern USA border with Mexico, refusing the help USA immigration officials to track down the immigrants so they can be deported.

Laws make it hard to quickly return Central Americans, and many of them spend years in the USA waiting for their immigration cases to play out.

"Nobody thinks that this is the ideal solution", Sanders said.

Trump "heard the idea, he likes it, so -- well, we're looking to see if there are options that make it possible and doing a full and thorough and extensive review", she said.

The GOP governor-turned-senator appeared on CNN's State of the Union Sunday, where he cast some doubt on the president's proposal to relocate detained immigrants from the southern border with Mexico and to so-called sanctuary cities such as New York, San Francisco and Chicago that have policies against arresting illegal migrants exclusively for the goal of deportation.

".So interesting to see the Mayor of Oakland and other Sanctuary Cities NOT WANT our now "detained immigrants" after release due to the ridiculous court-ordered 20-day rule".

Trump then branded immigrants as "criminals of all shapes".

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Sanders said the White House is considering all options including the proposed plan to transport detained immigrants to cities that have enacted policies to prevent people from being deported under federal immigration laws - such as Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia - that was first reported in the Washington Post.

The Democratic-led House of Representatives is determined, however, to bring the President, his family and his businesses under more scrutiny.

Sanders added, the President's top priority is to stop the flow of illegal immigration coming into the U.S. "We have people working on it diligently". "The word is out that if you come with a minor, you're never going to get deported".

"It's part of a pattern of conduct we certainly have to take a look at after we see the Mueller report", Nadler said.

An Oregon law passed in 1987 forbids state and local law enforcement from using public resources to arrest or detain people whose only offense is being in the country illegally.
