"I think it's certainly on the table, and I think it's something that can be discussed".

Ocasio-Cortez, 29, who burst onto the national stage after defeating a high-ranking incumbent, said her departure from Facebook was a "big deal" because the platform was crucial to her campaign.

"I think these are part of conversations that we're having in our caucus, but I think what we're really seeing is the ascent of authoritarianism across the world".

"They'll find somebody to challenge her in that district... somebody more moderate I think will take her lights out. Do you believe this should affect USA policy to the state of Israel?" co-host Michael Isikoff asked.

Ocasio-Cortez said there were "many ways" to respond to Netanyahu's pledge and protect Palestinian rights, including through supporting a bill that would force the U.S. secretary of state to certify that USA taxpayer funds were not being used on the Israeli detention of Palestinian children in the West Bank.

"And I also acknowledge my role in this", she added, noting that other members of Congress were holding debates on foreign policy in the Middle East long before she was elected.

The legislation, which was first introduced in November 2017, is called the Promoting Human Rights by Ending Israeli Military Detention of Palestinian Children Act. "And so I'm not, like, scrolling through trying to read everything online that journalists are writing on weekends".

"The congresswoman's words speak for themselves", said Corbin Trent, a spokesman for Ocasio-Cortez. She says that Rep. Crenshaw was "fanning the flames of hate".

Ocasio-Cortez drew an implied analogy to USA policy on the southern border, where Trump last week implied that the policy of detaining immigrants and removing their children was an effective deterrent to illegal immigration.
