Currently, the management has been told that the lead bank of the consortium, SBI, is willing to infuse almost Rs 20 crore every day until May 7, but the management of Jet Airways has conveyed that amount of money will not help in a business like aviation, where there are a lot of uncertainties.

The Guild, which has around 1,100 pilots as its members, had made a decision to stop flying from April 15 in protest against non-payment of salaries since March. Jet Airways pilots demonstrated in Mumbai on Monday, saying they had not received a salary in four months. It also announced the resignation of one of its independent directors, Rajshree Pathy, from the company for other commitments.

It was not immediately clear who else might submit a bid for the company.

Last month, Goyal and his wife Anita Goyal stepped down from the board of the airline, which has more than Rs 8,000 crore debt.

It is learnt that the lenders are willing to infuse Rs 20 crore daily till May 7 as they expect the new investor to take control of the airline on the date and the remaining legalities and all other steps of the stake sale process can then be completed by May 31.

Earlier, the airline's pilots, engineers and cabin crew members assembled at the headquarters to show their solidarity.

According to officials aware of discussions, the meeting was called after civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu asked secretary of the department Pradeep Singh Kharola to review issues concerning Jet Airways, news agency PTI reported.

An Open House will be called shortly as per the availability of the venue and the committee members, the communication added.

The NAG had in late March called for no flying from April 1 over non-payment of salaries.

According to sources, the airline has also stopped accepting bookings for its Mumbai-Paris flight until June 10 and closed reservations for its Mumbai-London, Mumbai-Amsterdam-Mumbai and Bangalore-Amsterdam flights, up to April 18.

Jet Airways' stock was off 7.6% at Tuesday's close.

He said the airline had enough funds to keep operations going on till Monday.

The airline suspended the route between Amsterdam and Toronto on April 11th "until further notice", a Jet Airways spokesperson said to NL Times by email.

Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal has put in bid for buying stake in the ailing airline, sources said.
