  • Google Cloud announces Anthos platform for the hybrid future

Google on Wednesday announced a cloud offering for retailers about four months after Thomas Kurian stepped into his role as Google Cloud CEO after a 22-year career at Oracle, known for its focus on retail and enterprise companies.

Google Cloud for Retail also includes solutions equipped with Google's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

With Qubole's cloud-native data platform running on Google Cloud Platform, customers have the option to deploy a new enterprise analytics service with a first-class user experience through a unified workbench that includes notebooks, dashboards, a native interface for all commands, and built-in tools for easy, secure collaboration.

It's not Greek mythology, but two technology titans are clashing in the cloud. Most importantly, it allows users with a service-centric view of their infrastructure, wherein users will spend less time managing applications and get greater awareness, consistency, and control.

Qubole SVP Mohit Bhatnagar says, "Data is the new oil of this economy and more companies every day are turning to the cloud to process data and leverage its value in their decisions".

Google is releasing Google Cloud for Retail, a suite of cloud-based retail solutions that will directly challenge the Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Retail cloud platform.

Regarding the Indonesian market, Google stated that the training program for 100,000 developers in the country was slated to be completed in 2020.

Oleksiy Stashok, Software Engineer for Google Cloud.

"It takes a very bold move to come up with Anthos, which in essence let's customers take their solutions and package them in a way that they can be transported to any cloud provider or stay on-premise", said Dana Berg, COO of North Hollywood, Calif. -based SADA Systems, named Google Cloud Global Reseller Partner of the Year.

To answer such a question, Google has always highlighted that security is something that they have built in from the start, not applying it later.

Google Cloud Next '19 runs through tomorrow at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Regarding the matter, Google boasts the only cloud that provides Access Transparency, a feature of Google Cloud that aims to increase customer trust and allows them to verify that the company will only access their data for business purposes. "We're building connectors to help retailers integrate their data across the company", he said. "You can use your encryption keys to encrypt your data". The products from Confluent, DataStax, Elastic, InfluxData, MongoDB, Neo4j and Redis Labs will be integrated into the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and offered as managed services. The first one is a beta version of protection to the common cybercrime of phishing, which allows users to report unsafe URLs to Google Safe Browsing to prevent hackers from obtaining sensitive information such as emails and passwords.
