In response to the defamation claim, Heard has made new allegations in court saying that Depp would drink, take drugs, and turn into a "monster" who would repeatedly hit her, rip out her hair, and choke her.

In the statement, Heard said, "About a year into our relationship, I began to witness Johnny abusing drugs and alcohol ..." She even alleged that on some occasions, Depp used both illegal narcotics and prescription medications.

"Whenever he was using, I anxious for both of us". She claimed the Edward Scissorhands star "would become a totally different person, often delusional and violent".

Johnny Depp's team has quickly hit back at Amber Heard's new legal filing - and they're calling his ex-wife's incredibly detailed and specific allegations of abuse "new lies". "Johnny continued to scream obscenities until he went into the plane bathroom and passed out locked in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight". In the motion filed in Virginia, Amber Heard reiterates her allegations that the Fantastic Beasts movie star abused her during their relationship. "Scared for my life, I told Johnny, 'You are hurting me and cutting me.' Johnny ignored me, continuing to hit me with the back of one closed hand, and slamming a hard plastic phone against a wall with his other until it was smashed into smithereens".

Heard included exhibits such as photos of her with bruises on her face and scars on her arms, images of damage she says Depp did to their home, and newly revealed screenshots of text messages describing the incidents at the time, and excerpts of her divorce deposition describing domestic abuse. She claimed they were in Australia and Depp had taken MDMA and ecstasy; he then allegedly slapped and pushed her during an argument before she locked herself in a bedroom for the remainder of the night.

"He was about to push my sister down the stairs", the actress emotionally explains, adding, "When he laid hands on her I don't know what I did, but I know I jumped in between the action that I saw could lead to a fatal accident with my sister".

Heard first publicly accused Depp of being abusive when she requested a restraining order against him in May 2016, shortly after she filed for divorce.

Rowling broke her silence on the controversy surrounding Depp's casting as the villain Grindelwald when she wrote on her website in December 2017, "When Johnny Depp was cast as Grindelwald, I thought he'd be wonderful in the role". "The filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies". All the charges against her were dropped and Van Ree said in 2016 that Heard never domestically abused her.

"Many at Warner Bros. wish that Rowling hadn't come out so strongly behind Depp, because having made her opinion so public boxes them into a corner", the source said. "I understand why some have been confused and angry about why that didn't happen". "But I will never do it again".
