According to outcome of Sound, the fire was a result of one of the mobile showers experiencing "mechanical failure of a heating unit".

The blaze broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning at the music and arts event in Indio, California.

Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after 2 a.m. The Riverside County Fire Department was on the scene with four fire trucks. Upon arrival, the shower unit was fully involved, near centre of venue. It occurred in a storage area of Lot 8 in the 81000 block of Avenue 51, the agency said. One trailer was destroyed and another was damaged from the flames, but no injuries were reported. The live feed will resume Saturday at 4:15 p.m. with music from Weezer, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, Bassnectar and others.

"I was waiting in line tryna shower at Coachella & it exploded & caught on fire right in front of me", one Twitter user recalls.
