Tom Holland is now in talks to star in Joe and Anthony Russo's forthcoming film adaptation of the novel Cherry by Nico Walker, as Variety reports.

AGBO acquired the rights to Nico Walker's book, "Cherry", in August, with plans to shoot over the summer.

The star of Spider-Man: Homecoming and his Avengers: Infinity War directors are sticking together for Cherry, the semi-autobiographical story of a war veteran who returns home and, struggling to deal with PTSD and substance abuse, becomes a bank robber.


Walker, from whom the movie rights were acquired for $1 million, is now serving prison time and is expected to be released in 2020.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt. The filmmaker will be visiting the country a few days ahead of the release of Avengers: Endgame on April 26.

Now Tom Holland, Marvel's current incarnation of Spider-Man, is to lead their adaptation. While Indian fans are coming up with and discussing all sorts of theories about what to expect in the upcoming film, one piece of news that is sure to excite them is about co-director Joe Russo all set to visit India in the coming weeks.
