Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli accused of paying a United States $500,000 bribe to have their two daughters - the youngest being YouTube star and social media influencer Olivia Jade Giannulli- labelled as rowers to get into the University of Southern California.

Allegations surfaced that they bribed sports recruiters inside the university to have their children accepted as athletes for the crew team, despite the fact that neither of their children participated in the sport.

Crown Media Family Networks, the company that owns the Hallmark cable channel, stopped working with its "Garage Sale Mysteries" star, Lori Loughlin, after she was charged in a college admissions scandal, it said on Thursday.

"I wanted to thank you again for 91 your great work with [our older daughter], she is very excited and both Lori and I are very appreciative of your efforts and end result!" Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying bribes to secure their daughters' admissions to top college programs. She was released on a $1 million bond and permitted to return to Vancouver, where she had been filming When Calls the Heart and other Hallmark projects. The company said it has severed its relationship with Loughlin. After the charges were announced on Tuesday, Olivia received a lot of backlash, especially because people immediately recalled a YouTube video in which she said she didn't "really care" about school. The network doesn't specify if they'll continue to air the current season of When Calls the Heart but it seems likely that they will.

Loughlin's publicist declined comment Thursday on Hallmark's decision to drop her.

Loughlin has not responded publicly to the allegations or entered a plea in the case, and didn't speak in court Wednesday except to give one-word answers to the judge's questions.

The New York City native with a sunny smile proved a good fit for the channel that specializes in romantic dramas and comedies with a wholesome touch, while her media-friendly personality allowed her to expertly tout her shows on her website and in TV appearances.

"She lost trust", said Robert Passikoff, president of Brand Keys, a New York-based brand research firm.

While Stewart may exemplify her business, Loughlin wasn't the only engaging star on Hallmark's roster.
