The NFL has come down with a ruling on the Kareem Hunt incident.

Hunt led the National Football League in rushing as a rookie in 2017 with 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns in helping Kansas City qualify for the playoffs. One incident allegedly took place at an OH resort in June 2017, where he got into a physical altercation with a guest.

The Browns' signing of Hunt was seen as controversial by many following a video released by TMZ previous year that showed him shoving, pushing and kicking a woman at The Metropolitan at the 9 Hotel in Cleveland in February 2018.

Hunt, 23, led the National Football League in rushing as a rookie in 2017 with 1,327 yards, and had totaled 824 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games in 2018 prior to his release.

Hunt's agent, Dan Saffron, said there will be no appeal in a released statement in response to the announcement of the discipline.

The Browns will have Hunt around all offseason to learn the offense, focus on pass protections and get to know his coaches and teammates.

"He has committed to take advantage of available resources to help him grow personally and as a member of the Cleveland community, and to live up to his obligations as an National Football League player", the statement read.

The other altercation allegedly took place at a Kansas City night club following a Chiefs playoff loss in 2018.

"First off, I would like to once again apologize for my actions a year ago".

Hunt will be allowed to practice with the Browns through training camp until the suspension begins August 31 after the final roster reduction. I'm grateful for my time with the Browns over the last month and thankful to all the people in the organization that have welcomed me. The Chiefs released Hunt in the middle of the 2018 regular season shortly after the video emerged. I also appreciate all of the support I received from my union through this process.

The Browns signed Hunt to a one-year contract February 11 knowing he was facing a potential long suspension.

The NFL had waited to finish its investigation of that incident - along with a separate reported situation involving Hunt in which he allegedly punched a man in the face at an OH resort last June - before assessing his punishment.

On Friday, the National Football League announced its decision to suspend Hunt for half of the upcoming season for violating its personal conduct policy.

Hunt led the National Football League with 1,327 yards rushing as a rookie in 2017 with Kansas City and was named to the Pro Bowl.
