Apple Music Now Works on Amazon Fire TV

  • Apple Music is Now Available on The Amazon Fire TV

Apple Music can now be accessed through the Amazon Fire TV beginning March 13. The announcement follows the release of Apple Music for Amazon Echo smart speakers at the end of 2018. The US retailer has just announced that starting this week, Amazon Fire TV users will be able to access Apple Music from their devices. If you have already set up Apple Music to work with your Echo speakers via Alexa, you will not be required to set it up again and Apple Music will seamlessly start working on your Fire TV devices.

"Just ask Alexa to play Beats 1 to hear Apple Music's global livestream including in-depth artist interviews- all completely ad-free".

Apple Music hitting the Fire TV is another sign that Apple is slowly moving away from its old approach of forcing people to own an Apple device to use its services. Late previous year, Apple Music began streaming support for the Echo as well.

Apple's on the offensive with services right now.

Same reason iTunes is coming to Samsung televisions, and Airplay 2 to LG, Sony, and Vizio sets.

To set-up your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Stick 4K, you'll need a compatible TV (HD or 4K) with an HDMI input port, an internet connection, and an Amazon account.

Those across the pond have been able to stream music via Apple's subscription service since December.

Google Home units previously made their platform available for Apple Music, but it was only for a brief period of time.

Meanwhile the video streaming industry is bracing itself for Apple's new video service, which is expected to be revealed at an event later this month.
