Michael Jordan References His Rings When Asked About Westbrook & Harden

  • Michael Jordan reminded a reporter he's the GOAT with tremendous answer

James Harden made headlines in recent weeks when he scored 30 points for 30 straight games. "Six championships probably", quipped Jordan, who won 6 NBA Finals titles with the Chicago Bulls between 1991 and 1998.

But the Charlotte Hornets' owner said Tuesday - flashing a big grin - that there is one accomplishment tougher than both of those feats: "Which is harder from the player's standpoint?"

When asked about which he thought was a more remarkable accomplishment, Michael Jordan chose to not even answer the question.

MJ says winning six National Basketball Association championships was a lot "harder" than what both All-Stars are doing.

Both players will be in Charlotte this weekend for the All-Star game.

The NBA approved the purchase of the Hornets by Jordan with just $30 million in cash.

Clearly, MJ was joking while staying true to his competitive spirit, though from a team standpoint it's fair to say that he makes a legitimate point, as neither Westbrook or Harden have won an National Basketball Association title despite their undeniable ability to score at will. "That's because I never played against all the people that represented the league prior to Michael Jordan".

"Frankly, no", Jordan said Tuesday (Wednesday, Philippine time) in a news conference previewing the All-Star game. It was still less declarative than James's but seemingly aimed at reminding everyone that, sure, the present-day likes of Harden and Westbrook are doing great things, but let's not get too excited until they start outperforming their predecessors in the playoffs, as opposed to the regular season.

Jordan's mentality is why he was so dominant on the court.
