Rumors around the league suggests the Knicks front office are not only gunning for Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant, but are nearly sure that they will sign him in free agency.

And, if Kevin Durant is available, the Knicks would gladly welcome him into Madison Square Garden with open arms.

First, Durant has a player option in his contract with the Warriors and can become a free agent this summer.

The portal that provides more season-ticket information had a photo of Mitchell Robinson with Durant standing in the background.

As the organization states, it was a rotating image that appears on their website, but given the amount of attention it has received, it decided it was in the team's best interest to remove it.

The Knicks might have taken the image down to avoid a tampering fine from the National Basketball Association, or at least a warning from the league, as it already has an issue with prominent players appearing to eye their next teams before their contracts are up.

Just like any other fan base, Knicks fans want the best for their team going forward, and they feel that NY would be better-served having a chance of drafting Zion Williamson this June, or even potentially getting the No. 1 pick and trading it for Anthony Davis.

It wasn't lost on beat reporters for the Warriors that, in the immediate wake of the trade, Durant stopped speaking with the media. The Knicks, though, have been closely linked to Durant, a two-time NBA Finals MVP, in free agency.

The photo was part of a pitch to season-ticket holders to renew their packages for the 2019-20 season. They're not really true New Yorkers.
