  • Energizer to unveil new phone with a massive 18000mAh battery

We'll be there in Barcelona to check out Energizer's lineup, which is bound to be interesting.

This year at MWC 2019, Energizer is set to debut over two dozen new phone models, including some with insane features and huge batteries.

Avenir Telecom, a licensee of Energizer Holdings, will release 26 new smartphone models among four product lines bearing the Energizer brand at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona on February 25-28, according to a tweet by the brand.

SlashGear reports that one of the phones, the Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop, will use a Mediatek Helio P70, have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with a 6.2in FHD+ screen. However, the company is yet to reveal any details about the hardware specifications or design of its foldable smartphone that will also be launched later this month.

The "Ultimate" series will include the Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop and the Energizer Ultimate U630S Pop, both of which feature dual pop-up selfie cameras.

Of the expected devices, two are expected to spot pop-up cameras, kinda like what we saw with the Vivo Apex a year ago. The upcoming Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop and U630S Pop are equipped with dual selfie pop-up cameras that will include 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. "The Energizer Ultimate U620S is said to feature a 6.2" 1080p+ screen. It also spots a side-mounted fingerprint sensor like we've seen on Sony Xperia devices in the past. It's powered by a Helio P22 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and only has a dual rear camera. The Energizer Ultimate U630S Pop will hit the market in June, while the Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop will be made available in July.

I can't even begin to fathom what kind of battery life you'll be able to eke out with 18,000 mAh, but seeing as how this is coming from Energizer - the battery company - I suppose it's not all that surprising. Oppo's smartphone sales grew 6.8% 29.2 million in the final quarter of a year ago, while Xiaomi's edged upward by 1.4% to 28.6 million, IDC estimated.
