Toronto Police are asking for help identifying a woman who threw a chair off a condominium balcony towards a busy downtown Toronto highway in a viral video.

Police say they are discussing a timeline for the woman to surrender and if she does not adhere to that timeline, a warrant will be issued for her arrest.

The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, February 9 at 10 am, when a woman threw a chair and other items off of a balcony located on a very high floor.

Police have yet to identify the person in the video, and it's unclear as to when the clip was shot.

A video posted on the weekend on Facebook with the caption "good morning" shows the woman taking a peek over the balcony, and then throwing a folding chair onto the Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore Boulevard below. The video ends before you see where the chair lands.

"We're trying to do things in a civilized manner", Hopkinson said.

Police say the items landed in front of the entrance to a condo building on the ground below.

On Monday, police released a photo of the woman, who they say appears to be in her 20s.

The investigation is now classified as a "mischief investigation, endangering life".

Incidents involving objects from high-rise building have come to police attention before, Hopkinson said.
