Brown's desire to land with the San Francisco 49ers has been well-documented, and there's no doubt Kyle Shanahan would love to pair the electric receiver with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Brown believes he has been the scapegoat for issues with the Steelers. The Steelers could decide they aren't going to move him.

Brown is a seven-time Pro Bowler and has been named to the NFL's All Pro first-team four times.

Getting him from the Steelers, however, could be hard for top personnel executive Howie Roseman.

ESPN later reported Brown officially asked to be dealt. Brown was benched for Pittsburgh's final game of the regular season after skipping a walk-through and not communicating with staff regarding a knee injury.

Brown is entering the third of year of a five-year $72.7 million contract with the Steelers. Although they are now $11 million under the salary cap after quarterback Nick Foles bought his way back into free agency last week and is no longer under contract. What the Steelers end up doing with Brown could end up having some major ramifications on the receiver market. He will be 31 years old by the time the 2019 season opens though he isn't showing any signs of age or wear and tear and would be an asset to any team who scoops him up.

Still, Roseman is one of the most creative general managers in the National Football League and has three picks in the first two rounds - meaning the idea of bringing in Brown will without question cross his mind.
