With new Washington Post reporting that President Donald Trump may have taken unprecedented, and potentially illegal, measures to hide the contents of private conversations with President Vladimir Putin, we are providing you with an update on several ongoing Russian threat streams.

Trump's denials follow a Washington Post report Saturday that "U.S. officials said there is no detailed record, even in classified files, of Trump's face-to-face interactions with the Russian leader at five locations over the past two years". "It suggests to me that the Mueller investigation needs to continue to its logical conclusion".

Without hesitation, the president fired back, "I think it's the most insulting thing I've ever been asked". Nobody says anything. But, I meet with Putin, they make a big deal. "I do think what we can all agree on is that the Mueller investigation should reach its conclusion".

"I know what the president likes to do".

President Donald Trump has avoided giving a direct answer when asked if he now is or has ever worked for Russian Federation after a published report said his behavior gave federal law enforcement officials reason to begin investigating whether he had worked for the us adversary.

The Post reported that Trump has gone to unusual lengths to keep his private talks with Putin secret, withholding details from senior officials and at one point even taking away his own interpreter's notes. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president's own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. USA officials learned of Trump's actions when a White House adviser and a senior State Department official sought information from the interpreter beyond a readout shared by Tillerson.

"Trump continued in a quartet of follow up tweets, ".the Federal Bureau of Investigation was in complete turmoil (see N.Y. Post) because of Comey's poor leadership and the way he handled the Clinton mess (not to mention his usurpation of powers from the Justice Department).

At the same time the FBI opened a probe into President Donald Trump for possible obstruction of justice after he fired FBI Director James Comey, counterintelligence agents were investigating why Trump was acting in ways that seemed to benefit Russian Federation, according to a source familiar with the matter. "That meeting is up for grabs".

Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told the Times he had no knowledge of the inquiry but said that since it was opened a year and a half ago and they hadn't heard anything, apparently "they found nothing".

After a meeting with Mr Putin in Hamburg in 2017, Mr Trump took possession of his interpreter's notes, the paper says.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has defended the decision, saying the companies are undergoing a major restructuring to "sever Deripaska's control and significantly diminish his ownership".

Schumer, however, contends the Russian oligarch maintains significant influence on these companies, including the aluminum manufacturing giant Rusal, and said it's important the sanctions remain in place while Mueller's investigation proceeds.

Warner and Johnson spoke on CNN's "State of the Union", while Coons and Graham appeared on "Fox News Sunday".
