Her office covers Chicago where Kelly has a home.

According to TMZ, investigators from Fulton County District Attorney's Office in Georgia contacted a number of Kelly's alleged victims after Lifetime aired the special.

"In order to have an investigation. we have to have victims and witnesses who are willing to come forth with whatever information that they have", Foxx said.

She said she has been in contact with two concerned families of people who have had contact with Kelly in Cook County in the last couple of years.

The incident, which allegedly took place in May 2018, was reported by Timothy Savage to Henry County police.

"Please come forward. There is nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of both victims and witnesses", she said. Various former members of Kelly's inner circle, family, music industry associates and psychologist weighing in on the trauma linked to Kelly's style of alleged abuse were also featured in the three-night series.

Jocelyn Savage's parents have filed harassment claims against R Kelly's manager Don Russell after they claim he sent them threats following their appearance in the "Surviving R Kelly" documentary.

Executive produced by Dream Hampton, the docu-series "Surviving R. Kelly" detailed accounts from people in Kelly's circle, including the singer's brother, Bruce, who said Kelly had a "preference" for young women and singer Sparkle (the aunt of the 14-year-old in the sex tape) who testified against him in court.

Foxx said that as a survivor of sexual assault herself, she was "sickened by the allegations. I should stress the courage that it takes to relive and repeatedly re-experience by telling your story of sexual victimization, but we rely heavily on victim accounts and victim statements to prosecute cases involving sexual assault or domestic violence", Foxx said. Greenberg on Wednesday told WGN-TV that the allegations are "made up".

An attorney for Kelly did not immediately respond to TIME's request for comment. His albums continued to top charts while he was on trial for child pornography, and many of his hit songs, like "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Ignition (Remix)", are still played widely.
