The Reuters news agency points out the cockpit voice recorder is one of two so-called black boxes crucial to the investigation of the plane crash.
Indonesian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Yudo Margin shows the recovered cockpit voice recorder of Lion Air flight 610 that crashed into the sea in October during a press conference on board of the navy ship KRI Spica in the waters off Tanjung Karawang, Indonesia, Monday, Jan. 14, 2019.

Investigators last week said they planned to use a navy ship for a fresh search for the crashed jet's second "black box" after a 10-day effort funded by Lion Air failed to find the cockpit voice recorder (CVR).
Information retrieved from the jet's flight data recorder late past year indicated that the pilot was using his controls to bring the airline's nose up but that an automated anti-stall system was pushing it down.
After investigators said the doomed aircraft had problems with its airspeed indicator and angle of attack (AoA) sensors, Boeing issued a special bulletin telling operators what to do when they face the same situation.
Introduced in the late 1950s, black boxes help explain almost 90% of all crashes, according to aviation experts. It will take three to five days to dry and clean the device and to download its data, he said.
