However, the BCCI is not impressed with this as one senior official said that his apology won't get this issue to an end and asked Hardik to understand the duties and responsibilities of an worldwide cricketer. "Exhausted of this boys will be boys attitude", Ekta Chauhan, a Twitter user, wrote.

Pandya appeared on the show with KL Rahul and both of them are facing major criticism for their behaviour on the show. Earlier on Wednesday, the BCCI issued a show cause notice against Pandya and KL Rahul.

When the host of the show asked him why didn't he ask women their name in a club, Pandya responded by saying, "I like to watch and observe how they (women) move". "After reflecting on my comments in Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone who I may have hurt in any way".

The notice was issued hours after Pandya apologized on his official Twitter page for his comments on women, that triggered a huge outrage among fans from across the country. Read to know more.

"I made an appearance on the chat show where I have made certain statements without realising that these could be disrespectful and offend sensitivities of viewers for which I am sincerely regretful", he wrote in his response, which is in PTI's possession. According to a source, his comments were deemed "crass and cringeworthy" and might prompt a decision to be made on whether Indian cricketers appear on "such non-cricket shows" after this.

Meanwhile, veteran cricket commentator and expert Harsha Bhogle said that while it was good to issue a show cause notice to the offending cricketers, BCCI should also sensitise "young players to life beyond the dressing room". Comments like these don't show anyone in good light. "Do they not have any social responsibility?"

Ratnakar Shetty, the former BCCI general manager of cricket administration, also had his say, as did the commentator Harsha Bhogle. So, it [his comments] should not be viewed very seriously or negatively.

This episode puts the BCCI and its attitude towards women in the spotlight once again, soon after its CEO Rahul Johri was given a contentious "clean chit" by a three-member independent inquiry committee that looked into allegations of sexual harrassment levelled against him by two women. "This one", he had said on Koffee with Karan.
