Australian actor Craig McLachlan charged with sex offences

In 2013, he was cast as Frank N Furter in a stage production of the Rocky Horror Show touring Australia, but in 2018 was accused of inappropriate behaviour by several female co-stars.

The actor will face court next month with 10 criminal charges - one count of common assault, eight counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted indecent assault.

Craig McLachlan, the former Neighbours star, has been charged with multiple counts of indecent assault, believed to be connected to his role in an Australian stage production of The Rocky Horror Show.

He was charged on summons to appear at Melbourne magistrates' court on 8 February 2019.

He won accolades for his role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show before allegations of sexual assault surfaced previous year. McLachlan was sacked from the upcoming Rocky Horror Show production and also from the ABC's The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

The 53 year old actor rose to global fame from his appearance in Home and Away and Neighbours.

The song rose to number three on the Australian charts and McLachlan got an ARIA award for the biggest selling song of the year in 1990. He has one child with British actress Charlotte Avery.
