  • Unai Emery gets animated on the touchline during Arsenal's 5-1 defeat by Liverpool

"If Liverpool go out and put in a massive performance against one of the big teams, they put them to sleep and win three or four-nil, then you get the momentum again".

Because of that, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp defended the star after accusations of simulation following the team's victory over Arsenal.

During the 90 minutes Robertson made three tackles (more than any other Liverpool player) and two interceptions which just highlighted his solidity in defence.

'He is not that sort of player, so how many times is it going to happen?

There was no serious complaints from the offender Pascal Gross or his Brighton team-mates when Salah was awarded a penalty at the Falmer Stadium on Saturday.

"Brighton tried a little bit to bring the long balls to Murray and around him, which they did, by the way, against Joe Gomez in the home game as well". If people are starting to say Mo has gone down easily, it's not fair.

Liverpool produced a clinical if unimpressive performance on the south coast, having lost 2-1 at City in their previous league outing before being beaten by Wolves in the FA Cup third round by the same scoreline.

The Liverpool forward scored his 14th Premier League goal of the season from the spot-kick against Brighton and Hove Albion as the Reds claimed their first win in 2019.

"We never really speak about the games before, we concentrate on the game".

"And then on Saturday we did the exact same".

"When I was fortunate enough to be in a changing room with Sir Alex Ferguson, in times of need when the pressure is on, someone was chasing or when Liverpool or Chelsea were just ahead of us, he would find something we could hook into".

"We have Joel now back as he was on the bench against Brighton but he as well will use the time for bone healing and it all helps so it's good for us in that way".
