  • Twitter Outraged Over Article Labelling Priyanka Chopra 'Global Scam Artist'

The couple had two extravagant ceremonies, one being the white wedding on December 1, followed by the Hindu rituals on December 2.

Priyanka and Nick tied the knot at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.

Regarding the article, while speaking to HindustanTimes, Priyanka said she did not want to react to such "random things". I'm in a happy place at this moment. But there's something that not many people know, or choose to accept, about the global sensation that is Priyanka: She is a modern-day scam artist, in my opinion.

The "Game Of Thrones" star and her soon-to-be husband took to Twitter to slam an article published by worldwide magazine calling Chopra a "global scam artist" following her marriage to American singer Nick Jonas. "These kind of random things can't disturb it", she added.

Sophie, who was one of Priyanka's bridesmaids, also took to Twitter to defend Chopra. That's right: "Nicholas Jonas married into a fraudulent relationship against his will this past Saturday, December the 1st, and I'll tell you why I think so". Jonas' brother Joe and his fiancee, Sophie Turner, also voiced complaints at the "disgusting" descriptions of their sister-in-law. While PeeCee looked lovely in a dress with a deep neck that showed off her stunning diamond mangalsutra, Nick looked suave standing by her side in a grey suit that he paired with a blue tee.

Actresses Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Sona Mohapatra called the article disgusting, racist, sexist and baseless. "Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls-t".

"There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgment".

The article, published on The Cut, a fashion e-zine produced by New York Magazine, has since been removed after a outcry from readers.
