The tunnel originated under a residential building in the southern Lebanese village of Ramieh.

The military said it had located one such tunnel dug from a home in the Kfar Kila area of south Lebanon that crossed into Israeli territory and was working to "neutralize" it.

Bolton in a tweet message wrote, "U.S. strongly supports Israel's right to defend its sovereignty, calls on Hezbollah to refrain from escalation and violence and to stop digging tunnels into Israel's soil".

The announcement follows an Israelioperation, dubbed Northern Shield, to destroy what it said were tunnels dug by Hezbollah that reached its territory.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has published photos and videos of the Israeli work being carried out on the border, as seen from the Lebanese side of the border, signaling to the Israeli forces that it has them within its sights.

"The regular Tripartite meeting" had been scheduled before the IDF launched its operation at its northern border overnight on Monday, said the statement.

"We are not now in a situation where our soldiers are behind enemy lines".

"Today we have launched Operation Northern Shield".

The United States remains "very troubled" by the discovery of these tunnels in Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon that led into Israel across its northern border.

According to the unnamed diplomatic source, Russian and Israeli efforts inside Syria have seriously impacted Hezbollah's missile program, with the terror group only managing to convert a "few dozen" ordinary missiles into precision-guided ones.

As operations continued on Thursday, the Israeli army said it had contacted the United Nations peacekeeping force (UNIFIL) which monitors the border region regarding a tunnel allegedly originating on the Lebanese side of the border.

"We are aware of additional tunnels", he said. "What we are doing with Hamas and with Hezbollah as well - we're doing everything we need to do".

The Zionist regime is aware of the unsafe changes in the conflict rules with the resistance group in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, and it knows too well that in the case of war, the three resistance groups will unite against their common enemy.

For now, the report said, the IDF was only dealing with the sections of tunnels inside Israeli territory, to avoid sparking a wider conflagration with Hezbollah.

"The governments who are still in the [nuclear deal], yes, we have a disagreement over the efficacy of the Iran nuclear deal and we think it's a deficient deal that needs to be replaced by a new and better deal", Hook said. "They declare so openly everyday".

The army has dismissed any suggestion of political influence in the operation, but some in the opposition, while supporting the army's actions, have pointed to how Netanyahu handled the announcement.
