UK leader warns ousting her won't make Brexit talks easier

On Thursday, four ministers resigned over the draft Brexit withdrawal agreement, MPs said it had no chance of getting through parliament, and Brexiteers began submitting their no-confidence letters.

The other is if 15% of Conservative MPs - now 48 - write letters saying they no longer have confidence in her.

Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the backbench 1922 committee, told BBC Radio Five Live that if he does receive the 48 letters required to force a confidence vote in the prime minister, he would not delay in announcing it - indicating there are not enough to do so.

"I will be going back to Brussels", May told Sky News television, saying she will meet European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker.

She told Sky's Ridge On Sunday she had not considered quitting, adding: "A change of leadership at this point isn't going to make the negotiations any easier and it isn't going to change the parliamentary arithmetic".

May said negotiations were continuing and she meant to go to Brussels and meet European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

It is hard to see how the 25 November EU summit could go ahead if Theresa May were to lose a confidence vote in the next few days.

Some in the Labour Party have called for a second referendum to give the public final say on the Brexit deal.

"I know that Gibraltar has no intention of being a back door, but instead a centre of high quality financial services", Mr Barclay said at the time.

Raab said that while the agreement was "fatally flawed", it's not too late to change that.

On Saturday Andrea Leadsom, the minister in charge of government business in parliament, told the BBC that she was supporting May but was not fully happy with the deal.

In a sign the Tory civil war over Brexit is not slowing down, Middle East Minister Alistair Burt warned rebels the "consensus" that pro-EU MPs should reluctantly respect the 2016 referendum result could break down if she is toppled.

Neither May nor European leaders are keen to reopen the draft Brexit withdrawal agreement that was grudgingly approved by the British cabinet last week.

"It is very important to take the action now".

The Prime Minister's top team has reportedly threatened to walk out en masse if changes are not made to her current Brexit plan. Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland are both still inside the EU's single market, so there's no need for barriers along the more-than-300-mile border.

The backstop, one of the most contentious parts of the deal, would mean Britain being trapped in "economic and political servitude" to the European Union, he said.Instead, both sides could discuss creating new unobtrusive checks away from the frontier, he said.

He will say today that Labour's plan for Brexit would include a new comprehensive and permanent customs union, and a "strong single market relationship".

The UK will now have a status that is more akin to that of Canada, Japan, and the U.S., which allows for limited access to the EU financial market, but this can be modified if both the Britsh and European authorities agree.

The emergency summit will kick-start the national ratification process in some EU countries as well as in Westminster, setting in train a process that will culminate with a vote in the European Parliament in February and finally Brexit Day on March 29 2019.

And of the divorce deal, Belgium's Foreign Minister Didier Reynders said: "Here it will survive".

"We're not going to be distracted".
