  • Spotify Users With Family Accounts Can Redeem a Free Google Home...

Now, with Spotify's beta application, users can shuffle music, choose from recently played tunes, control what's playing, and access Spotify Connect, which chooses the playing device.

As it is with all things Google, you might notice a little bit of oddity when it comes to services. Frankly, we just don't see this very often and I have to give credit to Spotify and Google for reaching out not only to new users but to their existing (and often loyal) userbase as well. How about YouTube Music?

The deal is pretty straightforward: sign up for Spotify Premium for Families and you get a free Google Home Mini. It's Google Assistant wherever you want it.

Are you a techie who knows how to write? Users must apply to get a free Google Home Mini before the 31st of December, 2018. The company also reiterated a fourth-quarter revenue forecast that fell short of estimates and cut the high end of its projections for growth in monthly active users and premium subscribers in the quarter.

Spotify said the number of paid "premium" subscribers rose to 87 million in the quarter, and it posted a first-ever profit of 43 million euros ($49 million) as a result of a tax adjustment.

Before this beta, Apple Watch users came close to getting Spotify access through a third-party app called Snowy, created when developer Andrew Chang got exhausted of waiting for Spotify to release their own official app.
