Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist critical of the Saudi government and its de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says officials from Saudi Arabia, the United States, Germany, France and Britain have listened to audio recordings related to the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. "Saudi Arabia has a responsibility to inform us where the body is", he said.

"The 15 people who came to Istanbul [from Saudi Arabia], who are also among 18 detained by Saudi authorities, surely know who killed Jamal Khashoggi and where his body is. Saudi Arabia's government can disclose this by making these 15 people talk", Erdogan said.

"Saudi Arabia does not want to acquire any nuclear bomb, but without a doubt, if Iran developed a nuclear bomb, we will follow suit as soon as possible", he told CBS back then.

Riyadh is under vast global pressure to explain why Khashoggi was murdered inside the Saudi consulate in Turkey's Istanbul in September.

Erdoğan also called on Saudi officials to do their part to reveal the unanswered parts of the dissident journalist's murder.

Representative Brad Sherman's bill, nicknamed "No Nuclear Weapons for Saudi Arabia Act of 2018", would prohibit Saudi Arabia's construction of nuclear weapons from the material it buys from the US, Vox reported Friday.

Khashoggi was last seen entering the consulate on October 2 to obtain documents for his forthcoming marriage. After initially denying and later playing down the incident as a fistfight, Saudi Arabia accepted that the journalist's killing was premeditated.

Erdogan said he might meet with US President Donald Trump in Paris during the commemorations.
