JR Smith admits he'd like to be traded from Cavs

"Yeah. ... They don't want me here".

In court documents, he alleges he was informed of this by Tyronn Lue, who told him the decision came from general manager Koby Altman and team owner Dan Gilbert.

Smith's comments could reportedly lead to a fine by the National Basketball Association, as the demand is an offense under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Smith is averaging a career-low 2.5 points per game on 23.1 percent shooting this season.

Last year, former Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe was fined $10,000 for a tweet saying: "I don't wanna be here".

Smith didn't play in Tuesday night's win over Atlanta, the Cavs' first game since coach Tyronn Lue was sacked following a 0-6 start. But at the end of the day, I can't take it out on my teammates. "So he just said he wanted to go younger at that position and he does not want to pick up the option". Regardless of who's out there, who's not out there, I'm always going to be a good teammate to my teammates.

As it seems now, Smith wants out and he wants the chance to compete one more time. To come from where I came from, from pretty much nothing to Cleveland and the way the city embraced me, the fans embraced me, the relationship I have with them, I can't do that to them.

Overall, Smith has not played in three of the Cavs' seven games to date.

Smith's pricy contract makes it almost impossible for the Cavs to trade him now. The Cavs acquired him in 2015 and he became a key piece in their teams that reached four straight NBA Finals from 2015-18.
