  • Dorothy Bruns being taken into custody by the NYPD

The woman who had been charged with striking and killing Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles' and her friend Lauren Lew's children with her auto has been found dead in her home from an apparent suicide.

Dorothy Bruns, 44, was found dead in her Staten Island home by a friend on Tuesday afternoon.

Local media reports said Burns was found Wednesday near bottles of prescription pills and what may be a suicide note, however, police would not confirm those details.

Police said she was driving her sedan westbound on Park Slope's 9th Street near 5th Avenue when her vehicle struck a group of pedestrians, including a pair of mothers - each with a child in a stroller.

But in May she was arrested at her home and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and assault.

A background check of her driving shows she had about a dozen traffic violations against her since 2016, including speeding and running red lights.

Ruthie Ann Miles and her family faced an unthinkable tragedy when her four-year-old daughter Abigail was struck and killed by a vehicle in New York City earlier this year.

One of the mothers is Broadway actress Ruthy Ann Miles, whose unborn baby later died.

She was 39 weeks pregnant.

Prosecutors alleged that Bruns continued to drive even though doctors repeatedly warned her not to because of ongoing health issues, which included a multiple sclerosis diagnosis and frequent seizures, the Daily News reported. Right, Lauren Lew is seen with her son 1-year-old Joshua.

She faced up to 15 years in prison.
