  • Rassie Erasmus Trolls World Rugby By Teaching Springbok Owen Farrell Tackle 'Technique'

On this occasion Australian referee Angus Gardner decided Farrell made "enough of an effort" with his arms, deeming no punishment was necessary and allowing England to hold on for a 12-11 win.

Many felt that the tackle should have at least resulted in a penalty being awarded to South Africa which would have given Erasmus' men the opportunity to win the game in what would have been the last kick of the contest.

Erasmus, whose side face France in Paris this weekend, consequently headed out to the training ground and, conscious the cameras were on him, took Esterhuizen to one side to show him how to tackle just like Farrell.

Cape Town - The Springboks are adamant they will be trying to emulate Owen Farrell's "legitimate" tackle when they tackle France in Paris on Saturday.

Erasmus suggested at the Springboks' post-match press conference that his team would start tackling opponents in a similar manner if it were legal to do so.

'If that's the only way you can stop people and tackle like that, and it's in the rules, then we should tackle like that'.

"We will not be commenting on the video", Rumbles told Sport24 by email.

"

"We should just do it."

." .

It comes after Owen Farrell's shoulder charge on Andre Esterhuizen went unpunished by the referee and World Rugby.
