  • Ruby Rose Suits Up As Kate Kane In First Official Batwoman Photo

Officially unveiled by the CW today, here's your first look at Rose as Batwoman, ahead of her debut in this December's Arrow/Flash/Supergirlcrossover, Elseworlds. Production on the three-show crossover between Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl begins Tuesday in Vancouver.

The costume was designed by legendary award-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who also designed the signature costumes for Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl.

In the photo below, Rose has a full head of fiery red hair.

We can turn off the Bat signal, because Batwoman has arrived! Along with introducing Rose as Kate Kane, it will feature Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane and Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries.

Rose's Batwoman will be different from previous versions in popular culture, as her iteration will be an out lesbian. The network is also planning a standalone Batwoman TV series for 2019. "But don't call her a hero yet - in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope".

Rose, whose casting was announced in August, joins The CW's DC Comics universe in December as a bunch of other ongoing series - Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl - come together in a crossover event.
