Rapper Kanye West, with a stream of consciousness speech in the Oval Office and a burst of profanity, defended his support for President Donald Trump on Thursday, to the great delight of Trump himself. West's social media pages show him in a red "Make America Great Again" hat, and he has said he wishes to facilitate conversations between the president and opponents like National Football League free agent Colin Kaepernick.

"Trump is on his hero's journey right now", West said.

West, a long-time Trump supporter, also decried the allegedly widespread expectation that all black people should be Democrats.

During the monologue that ranged from prison reform to manufacturing, politics and the universe, West said: "They tried to scare me, my friends to not wear this hat, but this hat, it gives me power in a way". He praised Trump for being the "freshest", the "flyest" president of the US. He allowed me to be invited to his territory, he treated us beautifully, and he shared some thoughts, and he will be open to talking when I get back to him. He's a smart cookie. The number one thing he wanted to discuss with Trump, he said, is "stop and frisk" law enforcement practices that allow police to stop and search people on the street.

Mr. West ran around the massive Oval Office desk to give the president a big hug. West said the focus needs to be on love instead. "That was quite something", Mr. Trump said.

After Mike Meyers, who appeared alongside the rapper, took his turn reading a few more planned lines, West added calmly: "George Bush doesn't care about black people". "That's from the heart".

"What I need Saturday Night Live to improve on, or what I need the liberals to improve on, is if he don't look good, we don't look good".

But Yeezy isn't the only member of the West family to get the chance of a meeting with Trump in the White House.

The tête-à-tête also comes the same week as West's longtime rival, Taylor Swift, entered the political arena for the first time, encouraging her fans to register to vote and endorsing Tennessee Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and House candidate Jim Cooper, also a Democrat. "I didn't want to put you in that position".

West has been a longtime support of Trump, describing the president as "my brother" and sometimes donning a "Make America Great Again" hat. We just say positive, lovely, divine, universal words.

"I'll tell you what, that was pretty impressive", Trump said.

Stop-and-frisk was used extensively in New York City until it was deemed unconstitutional because of its impact on minority residents.

Fox News warned its viewers Thursday that the network could not play the entire audio of Kanye West's visit to the White House, because he let a few expletives fly.
