  • Sergio Garcia successfully defended his title in Andalucia

Play has been suspended at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters due to weather, with Sergio Garcia now in the lead while Shane Lowry is still in the hunt.

Perhaps frustratingly for Norris he bogeyed the final hole at the Real Club at Valderrama after being required with the rest of the field to return to the course on Monday morning to compete the delayed third and final round. He'll have 10 holes to go when play resumes at 9:10 a.m. local time Monday as he looks to win for the first time since the 2015 Indonesian Masters.

Lowry got to within a shot of Garcia with three consecutive birdies after the turn but the Spaniard held on.

The Ryder Cup record-breaker restored his four-stroke cushion when he drained a tricky downhill putt for his third birdie of the day at the long 17th, and he closed with a cast-iron par to win his 34th professional title. I'm very proud of that.

Shane Lowry and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano are tied for third at 6 under, four shots behind Garcia with 10 holes to play, while Chesters made two double bogeys over his first four holes to drop into a tie for sixth.

Lowry was as close as one shot off the lead after a round that included seven birdies.

The tournament in Andalucia was heavily affected by thunderstorms and had to be completed a day late even after being reduced to 54 holes. His title chances ended with a double bogey at the par-3 15th hole.
