  • Selena Gomez Has 'Emotional Breakdown' and Now Receiving Mental Health Treatment

Selena Gomez is now seeking mental health treatment after reportedly suffering an emotional breakdown.

Gomez previously shared her struggles with mental health issues in an interview with Harper's Bazaar, detailing that she suffers from anxiety and depression. She insisted on leaving the hospital, but when doctors refused she had "a meltdown", "freaked out", and "tried ripping the IVs out of her arm". The disease got so serious in 2017, that she had to have a kidney transplant.

She has been to rehab twice: once in 2014, and a second time two years later.

It's not the first time Gomez has sought professional treatment to address anxiety, panic attacks, and depression triggered by her lupus.

Selena Gomez has been hospitalised after "emotional breakdown".

Gomez, 26, is undergoing a form of psychotherapy called dialectical behavior therapy at an East Coast facility, People noted. TMZ adds that there have been signals from her camp in the past few weeks.

She announced the news on social media in September 2017, writing of Raisa on Instagram, "There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my handsome friend Francia Raisa".

In addition to still being anxious about her best friend, the source told Radar tonight, she is still reeling over ex-boyfriend Bieber's quickie engagement and marriage to Hailey Baldwin just months after their split.

She also visited Lovato in the hospital before her own downward spiral began again. Her message referred to the hurtful impact of "negative comments".

The news comes just weeks after Gomez - who just released her collaboration with Cardi B and DJ Snake, "Taki Taki" - told fans she was taking a break from social media.
