Earlier today saw the news that former Marvel director James Gunn, who was sacked because of tweets about rape and pedophilia, will be writing Suicide Squad 2 with an eye to possibly direct.

This past Summer in July, the week of the San Diego Comic-Con, saw James Gunn fired by Disney from Marvel Studios and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 over tweets that resurfaced from ten years ago about rape and pedophilia.

This is a complete waste of Gunn's talents. The Guardians of the Galaxy cast came to Gunn's support, but apparently to no avail. According to Deadline, he'll bring "a completely new take on the property to Suicide Squad" which, despite Margot Robbie's ideal performance as Harley Quinn, is probably for the best.

With Suicide Squad, Gunn has a chance to work a similar magic as he did on Guardians.

The director was sacked from the Disney franchise of films after tweets from years ago saw revealed jokes in poor taste, concerning rape and pedophilia - since then, Gunn has apologised and said he had grown as a person in the years since the jokes.

And speaking of villains who may make up Suicide Squad 2, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista expressed interest in starring in the film now that Gunn is attached. As of right now, it sounds like they'll be using his script, but they have yet to find a director.

"My words of almost a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative".

They can still say Drax is in the third movie - he's just invisible.

"Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today".

'To everyone inside my industry and beyond, I again offer my deepest apologies.

We're told the deal for Gunn to write Suicide Squad 2 is done.
