  • Actor does job’ Fox News gun control hit piece on Jamie Lee Curtis backfires spectacularly

The story published on Fox's website received some major backlash after they tried going after Curtis for using a gun in the forthcoming Halloween installment, despite being a gun control activist.

The woman who made "Laurie Strode" famous in John Carpenter's 1978 horror film sees the newest addition to the U.S. Supreme Court as a psychopathic murderer.

"I am vocal about common-sense gun safety and gun laws", she told USA Today.

Ms. Blasey Ford's uncorroborated claims of attempted rape in 1982 almost derailed Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation to the high court. Further, she suggested, "What I think might surprise them".

And as Twitter users note, Curtis isn't the only actor who has played characters with values that don't match her own.

We're still not entirely sure what the basis for the original article was, but it looks as though Curtis has been mindful of how Laurie and the weapons she uses will be shown in the new film. But I fully support the Bill of Rights. "It's a ten-second business conversation, and the answer is, 'you can't, '" he said. She added: "If I had made my career as a pacifist actor, I would never have worked, ever". And have absolutely no problem with people owning firearms if they have been trained, licensed, a background check has been conducted, a pause button has been pushed to give time for that process to take place.

To that, Nick Gillespie at Reason.com pointed out that Curtis's stand on the interpretation of just how infringed the Second Amendment can be and still be supported largely mirrors 1980s Republicans. For instance, I fully support an assault weapon ban. "I have to be responsible for my own personal choices in my own personal life".

But those views do not necessarily conflict with the portrayal of her iconic "Halloween" character Laurie Strode in the franchise's upcoming October 19 release, she explained to USA Today. "That's as good for me as [Alien's tagline], 'In space, no one can hear you scream.' You put that up on a billboard, 'You will freak the f-ck out, ' and you go, 'Okay, I'll go.' It's a powerful enticement to get you to come into the movies".
