Nigeria finance minister resigns amid certificate fraud

Adeosun resigned her appointment on Friday, 69 days after Premium Times published a report that her National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate was fake.
In her resignation letter obtained by TNG, the former minister noted that she was shocked by the outcome of the investigation done on the allegation that her NYSC certificate which she had earlier tendered as Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State was not genuine.
The President thanked the Minister for her services to the nation and wished her well in her future pursuits.
She courted controversy again when she suspended and subsequently fired Mr Munir Gwarzo as the Director-General of the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission with Gwarzo challenging her powers to suspend him.
