NOVICHOK DENIAL Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov claimed they're'not Russian agents

Two Russians with the same name as suspects in the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter with a military-grade nerve agent have told Russia's state-funded RT television station they visited Britain's Salisbury in March as tourists.

Both men sounded distressed as they spoke about how their lives had changed since they were named in the United Kingdom as Russian intelligence agents who attempted to poison the Skripals. Britain said the attack was nearly certainly approved "at a senior level of the Russian state", an allegation that Moscow has vehemently denied.

Officers formally linked the attack on the Skripals to events in nearby Amesbury where Dawn Sturgess, 44, and her partner Charlie Rowley, 45, were exposed to the same nerve agent.

"Our friends had been suggesting for a long time that we visit this wonderful town", one of the men said of the Salisbury in a short clip of the interview played by RT.

They said they wanted to go to Stonehenge but were prevented from doing so because there was "muddy slush everywhere" so they got wet and went back to London an hour after arriving, as there was an intermittent weekend train service. The town was covered by this slush.

"We have repeatedly asked Russian Federation to account for what happened in Salisbury in March and they have replied with obfuscation and lies", Slack said.

Two men suspected of targeting the Skripals with novichok have denied being Russian agents or having anything to do with the poisoning.

In the men's first interview since they were named publicly they denied carrying women's perfume. The customs are checking everything, they would have questions as to why men have women's perfume in their luggage.

According to RT, the two men "sounded distressed" about being named by the United Kingdom as Russian intelligence agents alleged to have been involved in the poisoning.

Both men claimed to be afraid of going out, fearing for themselves and their loved ones.

"The duo surfaced a day after President Putin said Russian Federation had located Petrov and Boshirov, but that there was nothing special or criminal about them".

"We, of course, looked at what kind of people they are, and we know who they are, we found them", Putin told an audience at the Eastern Economic Forum in the eastern Russian city of Vladivostok. "Let them come out somewhere, to you in the media", he said, describing the men as "civilians".
