Consumers planning to buy one of the newly introduced iPhone models will also soon be able to order Beats headphones and earbuds with a matching color.

One key detail that Apple did not mention during its recent keynote is the fact that it will not be shipping the Lightning to 3.5mm audio dongle with its new iPhones. The iPhone X was nowhere to be seen, along with the iPhone 6S and the smaller iPhone SE.

The new phone XS and XS Max will be available for pre-order from September 14 and will hit some markets like the USA on September 21.

The iPhone X was unveiled only past year and it went on sale in November 2017.

Apple unveiled three new iPhones and a watch that detects heart problems on Wednesday. This was the reason Apple went for a cheaper LCD panel and a single camera for the iPhone XR.

After launching iPhone XR and iPhone XS premium phones, Apple India has dropped the price of its older smartphones, including iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus.

Apple also introduced a lower-cost 6.1-inch (15.5 cm) iPhone XR made of aluminium, starting at $749. Both the 6S and SE were powered by the dual-core A9 chip. The iPhone 7 now starts at £449/$449, and the 7 Plus at £569/$569.

Apple also introduced a fourth generation of the Apple Watch with a major redesign - and a series of features created to improve its performance as a medical and health device.
