  • Nintendo Switch Online service coming in the second half of September

Nintendo is getting closer to revealing the release date for its Switch Online Service.

With the launch of Nintendo Switch Online in the second half of September, it's a great time for Nintendo Switch fans to plan ahead for the new service. The news was announced through a new Tweet earlier today.

The wait was long for Nintendo Switch Online but its nearly here after numerous delays.


The paid online service will allow us to continue using online services, will introduce save data cloud backups (YAY) and will also give us 20 NES titles with online play. 3 will be joined by Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., Soccer, Super Mario Bros. and Tennis.

If you haven't heard already, the Switch Online price is going to be significantly less than Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus. When the service launches, online multiplayer in games will be locked behind the subscription.

Nintendo Switch Online App*: The Nintendo Switch Online smartphone application can be used to enhance the online experience for compatible games through voice chat and other features.
