  • NASCAR CEO Brian France Arrested on DUI Possession of Oxycodone

- The CEO and Chairman of NASCAR, Brian France, was arrested for DUI and possession of oxycodone on Sunday in The Hamptons, according to the Sag Harbor Village Police Department. TMZ Sports has learned.

The release says that France was arrested at 7:30 p.m. local time, not long after Chase Elliott secured his first career win in the NASCAR Cup Series at Watkins Glen.

Police suspected that the NASCAR CEO was intoxicated and found oxycodone pills on his person. Officers said a traffic stop followed and they discovered France was intoxicated.

The outlet also reports that France's blood-alcohol level was well over twice the legal limit.

France was arrested and hauled to a nearby station where he was booked for DUI and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. He was held overnight and arraigned at 9:30 a.m. Monday, where he was released on his own recognizance.

Additionally, it is reported that while he was being arrested, France dropped the names of some high-profile friends, including that of President Donald Trump. His grandfather - Bill France Sr. France took on the mantle in 2003. Brian's father took over the company in 1972 and ran the organization until 2000.

Sag Harbor is one of the most exclusive communities in the Hamptons - where stars like Billy Joel have homes. "They have police checkpoints everywhere and police are always looking for drunk drivers".
