  • Kris Aquino stuns in 'Crazy Rich Asians' world premiere

The cast and crew of Crazy Rich Asians all looked so good during the premiere and now we can't wait to watch the film when it opens in Manila on August 22. The off-shoulder gown was in the shade of yellow, paying homage to Aquino's mother, the late former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino.

She graced the elegant event in a yellow classic modern Filipiniana by young Filipino designer Michael Leyva.

Also speaking at the conference was surprise guest Amy Schumer, who said Union taught her to be "woke".

Although Union and National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade were happy to support the film, which features an all-Asian and Asian-American cast, they knew they weren't the right stars to lend their names to a promotional event. In the video, Aquino and Bimby made their way toward the Filipino crowd, greeted them warmly and shook their hands.

"Maraming salamat po sa effort nyo to show your love & support!" she added. She said she would be wearing customized jewelry.

The gowns were made by designers Francis Libiran and Michael Leyva respectively, with two of the gowns in a blush pink hue.

On her way to the red carpet premiere, Kris shared a video of a group of Filipinos eagerly awaiting for her arrival. For some of them, it was the first time in their lives they have seen a movie with an entire cast of characters that look like they do.

Director Jon M. Chu said no single movie could represent all the Asian people in the world but he hoped the plot and the array of actors in "Crazy Rich Asians" would show that "we're layered and complicated and not just the token computer guy or the sex kitten".
