The court case was resolved on Thursday 16th August 2018. It accused David Zipperer of selling the Menyoo and Absolute programs that help GTA V players cheat by giving them extra benefits and allowing the adjustment of other players' gameplay.

As a result of this injunction, Zipperer will no longer be able to sell this kind of software.

David Zipperer, from Georgia, was accused by Take-Two and Rockstar Games of selling Modding software for Grand Theft Auto Online.

Basically, this block is granted to prevent the modifications which Take-Two claims are damaging its reputation and could prevent sales of the game. These programs allegedly cost the company $500,000 in revenue.

At the same time, Stanton dismissed an unfair competition claim against Zipperer, adding that an injunction was a fair outcome that serves the public interest - partly because it will encourage Take-Two to invest more in games, and also because Zipperer can't afford to pay any damages. Take-Two is prepared to flex it's legal muscle in order to protect the integrity of the franchise. Take-Two has stated that it will continue to pursue legal action against any disruptions and threats to its multiplayer communities.

It should come as no surprise that Grand Theft Auto V - and its online component GTA Online - remains incredibly popular and successful for its publisher Take-Two Interactive. Modding is a large part of Grand Theft Auto on PC, however online modding has become a bit of a problem recently.

The tools in question are two trainer mods called Menyoo and Absolute, which allow users to alter various things in-game such as spawning weapons and cars. Unlike David Zipperer, MoDz is facing paying damages if he loses.
