How To Use Alexa's Answer Update

  • Answer Update lets Alexa get back to you when she's stumped

Amazon Alexa doesn't have all the answers. The notification will come on the device if you've enabled the feature, according to TechCrunch.

Users were already able to keep track of their conversations with Alexa in the Alexa smartphone app, which lists every question put to the assistant and the answer given in response.

In a statement to PCMag, Amazon said it will be rolling out this feature to "all Alexa customers over the coming week".

This is an optional feature that is not enabled by default. But Amazon's Alexa doesn't like it when there is a question posed that she can't answer.

Alexa might not be able to answer all your questions, but the virtual assistant can help you do something else: shop. The light on your Echo device will pulse and you'll hear a notification chime - ask Alexa what the update is, and she'll let you know that's she's learned the answer to a question she previously couldn't answer for you. To see if your Alexa-powered device has received the Answer Update feature, just say "Alexa, turn on Answer Update". The capability can also be enabled by saying, "Alexa, turn on Answer Update".

Right now, you can grab TP-Link's Wi-Fi smart plug mini or LIFX's mini white smart bulb for just $10 at Amazon when you use coupon code SMART10 during checkout.
