Fallout 76 Won't Be Available On Steam

New updates have appeared on the official FAQ page for Fallout 76 from Bethesda Game Studios that gave a bit more insight into what to expect from the game's "B.E.T.A.", which is expected to begin sometime in October. In the past, The Elder Scrolls Legends and Fallout Shelter weren't at Steam first.

We know that Fallout 76, the latest in Bethesda's post-apocalyptic shooter series, will be an always-online multiplayer game set in West Virginia. Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines also tweeted about the Bethesda.net exclusivity for Fallout 76.

"Our current plan for the B.E.T.A.", explains the FAQ, "is it will be the full game and all your progress is saved for launch". Secondly, Steam Workshop integration will be off the table, meaning mods will have to work through another system such as the Bethesda Creation Club.

Obviously, players won't be able to experience all that Fallout 76 has to offer in the beta - there will certainly be restrictions - but this detail is promising regardless. Publisher Bethesda finally confirmed this after a period of silence following the game's fantastic E3 2018 reveal.

The upcoming Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. (Break it Early Test Application) won't simply be a vertical slice of the game. Exact dates are still unknown.
