The victim was Dennis Shields, who has been known to date Bethenny Frankel of "The Real Housewives of NY", a police source said.

NYPD gave the following statement regarding Dennis' overdose: "Today at 9:19 A.M. police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious and unresponsive 51-yr-old male".

Bethenny and Dennis had been romantically linked together since 2016, but had actually known each other for 30 years.

"We are all heartbroken".

"Bethenny and her daughter Bryn love Dennis and his family", the source said.

"[Police] learned his assistant had administered Narcan but was unsuccessful in reviving him", TMZ reported. Shields, the CEO of the company LawCash, previously dated and later married Frankel's friend from high school.

Now that RHONY is coming to a close, and with the reunion already having been filmed, we won't be witnessing Bethenny's reaction to the news on Bravo this season.

Frankel addressed their relationship in a May interview with Steve Harvey.

"I've been with someone on and off for years", Frankel told the host, according to People. "We're trying to really kind of be good partners and be good teammates and I think relationships oddly are - and this sounds cold - but a little bit like business". TMZ adds that cops believe he overdosed on oxycodone. "If both people aren't happy about it but slightly uncomfortable and giving up something or giving in [to] something, it doesn't work. I haven't said that to anyone yet".
