Apple Watch Series 4 incoming as new Watch model numbers are spotted

21 August, 2018, 00:24 | Author: Rafael Roberts

Apple recently registered six new product model numbers (A1977, A1978, A1975, A1976, A2007 and A2008) with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), as spotted by French site Consomac.

Much like the FCC in the USA, the ECC is the place where new devices being sold in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russian Federation stop by ahead of release. Last year, Apple launched eight different Apple Watch Series 3 models, MacRumors reminds us, including two aluminum GPS-only versions and six LTE models that are available in three versions, including aluminum, stainless steel, and ceramic. Plus, Apple could keep the Series 3 GPS-only models as its entry-level watch. We can easily believe that we will get three different versions of the Apple Watch but in two sizes. We can only speculate.

Apple has started to file its new Apple Watch Series 4 models with the Eurasian Economic Commission.

So what can we expect from the Apple Watch Series 4?

They will run watchOS 5 out of the box, the upcoming software that is still in the preview stage.

Reliable industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the Series 4 will bring a new look including a larger display and a bigger battery. We'd definitely like to see it though.

What's surprising about Apple's filings is that we're only looking at six model numbers instead of the expected eight.
