  • 2nd suspect arrested in rapper XXXTentacion's murder

A Florida man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of up-and-coming rapper XXXTentacion.

Keyla Concepción, senior public information officer for the Broward County Sheriffs Office, said Williams "was charged with first-degree murder for his participation in the crime".

Prior to charging Boatwright, authorities also arrested Dedrick Williams, a tattoo artist suspected of operating the SUV that prevented XXX's vehicle from leaving RIVA Motorsports.

Boatwright has a lengthy criminal past with several drug charges as well as an arrest for battery.

Following his death, XXXTentacions music surged on the Billboard Hot 100, with multiple songs re-entering the charts after falling off. "[Detectives] want to find out what he knows about the murder", Broward Sheriff's Office wrote via its Facebook page when it announced Allen was a person of interest. Allen is also wanted on a felony warrant for violation of probation for alleged possession of flakka, a street drug commonly known as bath salts, and for carrying a concealed firearm. The BSO news release says only that Boatwright and an armed accomplice confronted XXXTentacion in a robbery attempt, and at least one of them fired a gun.

Both of the suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV. While still charged with first-degree murder, it appears that Williams is not one of the gunmen who shot and killed XXXTentacion.

Onfroy was taken to Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, where he was pronounced dead. Before his death, he signed a $10 million deal for his third album's release, reported the New York Times, citing three people briefed on the deal.

The Broward County Sheriff's office has made another arrest in the XXXTentacion homicide case.
