29-year-old Brittany Burke and Richard Pariseau, 28, were arrested by officers in the Reddi Mart in Edmonton.

Bhagwant Chauhan/Store Owner: "Pop can".

The store owners said they called police because the two seemed suspicious.

That's when Chauhan's husband stepped in to help.

In an attempt to evade arrest, Pariseau reportedly pushed Burke into the officer.

Chauhan suggested he inserted or swiped the card instead, but the bloke said it was his girlfriend's card and that she was at work. When police arrived, the man tried to fight them while the woman ran to the back of the store and crawled up into the ceiling.

"It was scary. Because suddenly, you don't know".

Chauhan said the couple was buying a soda for $4.39. You're thinking the person is in the back but she's up on the roof.

The man and woman, both from Edmonton, have been charged with multiple counts, including using a stolen credit card, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer and resisting arrest from someone aiding the police.

CTV reports Pariseau faces eleven charges, including resisting arrest and using a stolen credit card while Burke faces three charges including obstructing an officer and mischief under $5,000.
