"An exceptional person will be chosen!" tweeted the President.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania arrive on Air Force One, Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Andrews Air Force Base, Md., en route to Washington as they return from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

News reported on Sunday night that Kavanaugh and Hardiman are getting the most attention in the decision-making process.

Trump has enjoyed teasing details of his process in recent days, saying Thursday that he was down to four people and "of the four people, I have it down to three or two".

The president is said to have narrowed his choice to four federal appeals court judges: Thomas Hardiman, 53, of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals; Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett, 46; Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Raymond Kethledge, 51; and District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh, 53.

Trump will make the announcement at 9:00pm ET tonight at Fox News Channel.

"Red-state Democrats are going to have a very hard decision, and I hope that every Republican will rally behind these picks because they're all outstanding", Sen. "It's about more than the next election", Democratic Sen.

Watch the discussion above and Leo's response below.

The rollout will be modeled on the seamless presentation in January 2017 of the President's first Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, in what was undeniably one of his most successful and most well-managed moments as President.

Kethledge, a former Kennedy law clerk, has sat on the 6th Circuit since 2008 after being nominated by George W. Bush. As an attorney, Kavanaugh worked for the special counsel investigating former President Bill Clinton, who was eventually impeached, and also worked for the Bush campaign during the 2000 presidential election recount.

There are no set dates for when the confirmation hearings will begin. While that argument won't sway Republicans, their strategy could stiffen Democratic resolve to oppose the nominee.

Two Republican senators, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of ME, are pro-abortion and have said they would vote against a candidate who would overturn Roe v. Wade.

All of the four states were carried by Mr. Trump in 2016. I'm open to voting no.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell advised Trump that Kethledge and Hardiman would be easiest to confirm, according to multiple news reports citing administration officials. "I don't think my role is a rubber stamp for the President, but it's also not an automatic, knee-jerk no either", Jones said.

Leo said that rallying Democrats on the issue of Roe v. Wade is a "scare tactic".

By installing Gorsuch and another, similar candidate on the court, Trump can tell conservative voters that he kept his promises and give them a reason to solidify his electoral coalition. But the contestants in this game show aren't the potential nominees, who have already been carefully vetted by conservative legal groups the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society.

While the president has been pondering his pick, aides have been preparing for a tough confirmation fight.
