  • Sarah Palin and Sacha Baron Cohen

Former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin slammed comedian Sacha Baron Cohen on Tuesday, claiming she was "duped" into giving him an interview for his upcoming show on Showtime, "Who is America".

In a post that was published on Facebook, the former Republican Party nominee for Vice President of the United States in the 2008 USA presidential election has slammed Baron Cohen and Showtime after he conducted a "humiliating interview" with her. In a long message posted to her Facebook page, Palin explains that Cohen "heavily disguised" himself as a disabled US veteran in a fake wheelchair before conducting a long interview with her. Additionally, Palin says that the interview process was long and dared Cohen and Showtime to release the footage and show that she walked out of the interview after feeling disrespected.

In a fit of righteous patriotism, Palin calls in her post for Baron Cohen and Showtime to donate the proceeds from the project to a charity for veterans.

A spokesperson for Showtime said the cable network had no comment on Palin's accusations and challenge.

"The disrespect of our USA military and middle-class Americans via Cohen's foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse".

It's certainly not my place to tell you whether or not this is extremely amusing, but in my capacity as the News Editor of this site, it is my place to remind you that Who Is America? will air this Sunday evening at 9PM CST on Showtime.

Palin also accused Cohen's production team of "purposefully" dropping them off at the wrong Washington airport, "knowing we'd miss all flights back home to Alaska".

"I'm excited and ready to explore the nuanced conversations and heated debates that all genders are having, both online and in private to make sense of how the hell we got here, and most importantly; how do we move forward in the most effective way?"

Palin added that one of her daughters was with her on the trip, which she said racked up "great costs on our part in time and resources".

Sarah Palin calling Sacha Baron Cohen "a piece of s**t", surely, is playing into the comedian's hands.

He reportedly filmed numerous interviews with well-known politicians and public figures for the prank series, including former Vice President Dick Cheney, who was convinced to sign a "waterboard kit" on camera.

DailyMail.com has been told by a source that it was the American Programs Bureau that presented this opportunity to Palin, the same group who manages the likes of Larry King, Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Sir Richard Branson and Mikhail Gorbachev, to name a few.
